Democratic Goals

The following list of goals comes from Roger B. Wilson, Chairman of the Missouri Democratic Party.

What would Truman , Clinton or Carnahan do in these times? The same thing Democrats elected in ‘06 and ‘08 will do.

• Honor our promises to Veterans and support our troops. Claire McCaskill has proposed a comprehensive Military Bill of Rights to ensure that our troops never go into harms way without everything they need.
• Give working Missouri families a raise. Jim Talent has voted 11 times against increasing the 10-year-old minimum wage.
• Provide preventative and timely health care for families. Governor Blunt and the Republican legislators cut health care to 100,000 Missourians including seniors and the disabled, in 2005. In 2006 they promised to restore health care to nearly 4000 Missourians but then failed to live up to their promise.
• Increase the quality of education for Missouri school children. Nearly half of the schools in Missouri are suing Governor Blunt becasue of the poor quality of our public education.

• Make it easier for everyone to vote by passing reforms like early voting. As opposed to the Republicans who have embarked on a voter-suppression campaign aimed at undoing nearly a century’s worth of progess on voting rights.
