Brian Munzlinger & Bob Behnen A.W.O.L. in Memphis

By bobveatch

O.K., nobody was surprised. Republicans Brian Munzlinger and Bob Behnen were absent at Wednesday’’s candidate forum in Memphis. The event was sponsored by CWA local #6355, a union that represents the state’s social service workers. Munzlinger & Behnen voted for draconian cuts in Missouri’s social service problems. Do you suppose that these GOP candidates were afraid to answer questions from the senior citizens, children and working people ? At Canton, both Munzlinger and Behnen said they were proud of their legislative records. Why didn’t they show up to defend those records?

Democrats Wes Shoemyer and Beau Hicks were at the forum. They spent two hours answering question from an audience of approximately sixty people.

CWA Local 6355 failed to represent me in a greivance with my employer Parkway School District. Now I know what the “union” was doing instead of representing a dues paying union member like me. It was hosting a political forum in another part of the state. Local 6355’s assistant organizing coordinator was also seen on St. Louis TV protesting the catholic arch-biship even though catholic school employees are not represented by CWA. CWA has absolutely no right to condem or criticize Munzlinger and Behnen’s work in the state legislature since they represent diverse communities with varied interests. As a union dues payer to CWA Local I have a right to expect that they would represent me in a grievance and they failed or refused to so and instead participated in catholic protests and hosted political forums while the time for my grievance expired. Because of CWA’s failure to effective prosecute my grievance I have consequently suffered a job demotion and pay cut. I am sure that a lot more than sixty Parkway School District and Missouri state employees would show up to at a similar forum to criticize the farce of a union known as CWA Local 6355. Is it any wonder that out of eight thousand potential union members CWA Local 6355 has been unable to get it’s membership as high as two thousand members? CWA Local 6355 is a union that knowingly fails to fufill its obligations to it’s dues paying members.

Bush is forever saying that democracies do not invade other countries and start wars. Well, he did just that. He invaded Iraq, started a war, and killed people. What do you think? What is he doing to us, and what is he doing to the world?
Our country is in debt until forever, we don’t have jobs, and we live in fear. We have invaded a country and been responsible for thousands of deaths.
We have lost friends and influenced no one. No wonder most of the world thinks we suck. Thanks to what george bush has done to our country during the past three years, we do!
