Monday October 16th, WGEM and the American Association of University Women will hold two debates: one for the candidates for state senate for 18th District & one for candidates for state representative for 1st District. The debates will be held in the Alexander CampbellAuditorum of Culver-Stockton College at Canton. The public is invited to attend the debates. The schedule for the event is as follows:
- 5:30-6:00 pm-Informal gathering in the auditorium foyer.
- 6:00-6:30-Televised Senate Candidate Forum with local media representatives.
- 6:30-7:00-Questions from the Audience moderated by AAUW.
- 7:00-7:15-Break
- 7:15-7:45-Televised House Candidate Forum with local media representatives.
- 7:45-8:15-Questions from the Audience screened by AAUW.
It appears that the debates will not be televised live. WGEM hasn’t announce broadcast date.
The debates should be interesting. Republican candidates Bob Behnen and Brian Munzlinger have been avoiding debating Democrats Wes Shoemyer and Beau Hicks.
