More Buzz From Culver-Stockton Parade

By bobveatch

I’ve heard positive buzz since the parade about Democrat Russ Steele. Russell Steele is presiding judge of the 2nd judicial circuit, which consists of Adair, Knox & Lewis counties. Steele has served on the bench for nine years. He is being challenge by Tom Hensley, a Kirksville attorney. Both Steele and Hensley were in last Saturday’s C-S parade. Russ “worked the crowd” along the parade route: he shook hands, distributed fliers & visited with folks. Mr. Hensley walked in the center of the street, holding his wife’s hand while waving abstractly at the crowd. People have told me that Judge Steele came across as a energetic “people person” who was truly asking people to vote for him. On the other hand, Hensley seemed aloof, disinterested and somewhat pained by being among the hoi polloi.
